Tour The Breakers Bed and Breakfast Inn for Bird Watchers
By 1912 this farmhouse had become the Gordon family's beach house and typified the colony of Beaumont families who spent the summer season on the Gulf. Family history indicates the house was named after the Vanderbilt Newport Mansion, "The Breakers". While this house may be an architectural time capsule, it's not a museum. Instead, outfitted with modern conveniences that have been discretely added, the home is vibrant and alive. Being the fifth-generation owner, Barbara Gordon McNeill has gone to great lengths to ensure this. "My intent was and is to maintain the feeling of the old home place while integrating updated features, "she explains. "Also, many of the furnishings and decorative arts are original to the place." Enjoy the tour!

The Beach and More...

Relax and enjoy the beach view from your porch-style room or from the decks. The back yard has been left to grow just for you birders so you can view birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat. A birders paradise!

Sleeping Porch...

Most of the furnishings are original to the guest house, dating back to the 1900s. Wood floors, and iron beds decorated with old quilts and rag rugs bring you back in time, yet the ceiling fans, heating and air conditioning ensure your comfort and a pleasant stay.

Amenities...

The Guest House has refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, ice, outdoor grill & dishes for two.

A Note From Your Hosts...

The Breakers represents far more than just a place to live. Surrounded by mementos and the handiwork of those who preceded us, Alan and I regard this classic beach house as part of the family. It's been written that a great old house possesses its owner and I agree. This place is a wonderful reminder of a gentler, quieter lifestyle."

We would like to invite you to come and share the relaxing atmosphere and wonderful history of "The Breakers" Bed and Breakfast Guest Cottage. We'll be looking forward to your visit.
